Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician - IV Certified Job Type Contract A leading closed-door long-term care pharmacy is seeking a skilled Lead IV Pharmacy Technician to oversee compounding operations and maintain high standards of sterile preparation. This contract role, based in Georgetown, KY, is ideal for a technician with recent hands-on IV compounding experience who thrives in a fast-paced and compliant environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the compounding room to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to protocols Prepare intravenous medications using aseptic techniques in compliance with USP 797 standards Manage inventory control and ensure accurate record-keeping Maintain strict sterile environment practices to meet regulatory guidelines Cross-train in the narcotics department to support operational needs Utilize Frameworks software system (training provided)
Qualifications and Experience:
Active and clear Kentucky Pharmacy Technician license required Minimum of 2 years recent and continuous IV compounding experience within a sterile environment Lead technician experience is a plus but not required; strong leadership potential essential PTCB certification highly preferred but not mandatory Detail-oriented with excellent work ethic and strong attendance record Ability to work Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with rotating weekends
Facility and Volume:
Closed-door long-term care pharmacy setting Approximately 600 prescriptions processed daily This is a direct hire opportunity starting ASAP. Attendance and reliability are critical due to the nature of the assignment.
