Pharmacy Intern V-Care Pharmacy - Framingham, MA Job Description V-Care Specialty & Retail Pharmacy is a premier pharmacy services provider, dedicated to providing quality patient care and innovative pharmacy solutions to customers and patients in community settings. V-Care is recruiting a Pharmacy Intern to join our team. The Pharmacy Intern will provide pharmaceutical services in a manner that maximizes quality and patient safety. Participates in and oversees the dispensing of medication in accordance with federal and state regulations and V-Care policy.
Essential Functions:
Works under direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist Works with Pharmacy Manager to enter data into computer system to fill prescriptions and to obtain reimbursement payment. Works under direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist in prepackaging medication for dispensing according to V-Care´s standards and government regulations. Assists the Pharmacist in final checking of filled prescriptions, which may include stating the medication for RPh final review and/or packaging of medication post RPh final review and coordinating accurate and timely delivery to the customer. Assists Pharmacy Management in maintaining good inventory practices which may include receiving and rotating incoming medications and supplies, posting lot numbers, expiration dates and assisting in physical inventory. Works with Pharmacy Manager in maintaining a clean/safe work environment, checking equipment for calibration, safety and cleanliness. Performs other duties as assigned all in compliance with HIPAA.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent experience required Minimum one year related experience in retail, specialty, long term care, hospital or mail delivery pharmacy preferred, but will train Intern Pharmacist License in the state of Massachusetts required Must be available to work rotation shifts. Hours vary from Monday through Friday 9.00am-5:30pm.
