Job Description

We are looking for a dependable Pharmacy Technician that will process and fill prescriptions. You will undertake other tasks under the direction of a pharmacist to provide excellent customer service and ensure the pharmacy runs smoothly. As a pharmacy technician you must be detail-oriented and reliable since the job has high responsibility. You must possess excellent communication skills as well as aptitude in using computers. Aspire Medical Staffing is looking for Pharmacy Technician to provide services at the FMC Devens in Ayer, MA .
Schedule:
Monday through Sunday between the hours of 4:00am and 10:00pm with a 30 minute unpaid lunch period. 40 hour work week
Compensation:
Pay:
$22.05/hour
Health & Welfare:
$4.93/hour- allocated for medical, dental, vision, or as cash in lieu of benefits
Total Compensation:
$26.98/hour
Responsibilities:
Assist the staff pharmacist in ordering, stocking, storing, and dispensing of prescription and non-prescription medications while demonstrating knowledge of the budgetary guidelines and BOP Formulary constraints. Maintain pharmacy areas in a clean and orderly fashion consistent with departmental safety and sanitation guidelines. Assist the pharmacist in maintaining stock of up-to-date medications (checking for outdates per policy) in the main pharmacy, satellite camp, crash carts, emergency bags and Automated Dispensing Systems. Assist the Pharmacist with maintaining stock of forms as needed and updating Pill Line/Restricted Medication cards for inmates as well as filing Medication Administration Records into the Medical Record. Assist the Pharmacist in preparing unit dose or pre-packaged medications. Complete and maintain competency as indicated by the ability to complete the Pharmacy Competency Module while maintaining knowledge of BOP Formulary and any changes to this document. Maintain the narcotics count and the needle and syringe inventories. Maintain and re-stock adequate supplies for the "Night Stock" cabinet and perform audits of the "Night Stock "or Automated Dispensing System. Possess a working knowledge and maintain technical computer skills pertaining to pharmacy issues. Must participate in Improving Organizational Performance Data and Quality Assurance Activities as directed
Qualifications:
Degree:
Certificate.
Education:
Graduate from a formal pharmacy technician program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) or a formal pharmacy technician program (i.e., technical, hospital, or retail-based program) or a formal medical services training program of the United States Military.
State Pharmacy Technician License Experience:
One year of experience as a pharmacy technician after graduation. Must be a
