Pharmacy Student Intern - PRN

Seeking rising P2 students for Pharmacy Student Intern opportunity. Will provide PRN coverage for days, nights and weekend shifts.

Job Summary:

Essential Functions:

Under the mentorship and guidance of a licensed pharmacist, the Pharmacy Student Intern executes the tasks of a pharmacy technician or technician specialist in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. S/he performs a variety of duties and technical tasks structured to assist the pharmacist, patients, pharmacy technician specialist, and other healthcare providers as well as the entire medication distribution system for hospital patients.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Basic computer/keyboard skills. Good understanding of experience with medical terminology. Able to participate in all aspects of drug distribution, communicate with other hospital employees, and prioritize work based on acuity/need.

Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required:

High School diploma or GED required. Must be currently enrolled in an accredited school for doctor of pharmacy program. Registered Pharmacy Technician or Registered Student Pharmacy intern through the MD State Board of Pharmacy required. Pharmacy technician experience preferred. Patient Contact Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skills in providing appropriate care/contact for patients in the following age groups: X Neonate (0 thru 30 days) XInfant (31 thru 12 months) XChild (13 months thru 12 years) XAdult (18 years thru 65 years) XGeriatric (66+ years)

Physical Demands:

Sedentary - Light Work - Lifting up to 15 pounds on an infrequent basis (less than one lift every three minutes). While work is mostly done sitting, a certain amount of walking or standing is often necessary.
