Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Pharmacy Technician for our Department who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.
As a Pharmacy Technician you will:
Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Pharmacy Technician for our Department who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.
As a Pharmacy Technician you will:
- Prepare and delivers medication to Pyxis
- Maintain an accurate inventory of medications and supplies by performing inventory management cycle counts and Pyxis unit inspections with electronic documentation
- Assess need for and repackage oral solid and liquid medication for dispensing
- Additional duties as assigned Qualifications include:
- High school diploma or GED/equivalent
- Graduation from an ASHP accredited or PTCB recognized Pharmacy Technician Training Program preferred.

1 year of pharmacy experiencePreferred:
Previous experience with Cerner, Pyxis, Pharmogistics, Carousels.Required:
Licensure as Pharmacy Technician by the Maryland Board of Pharmacy.Preferred:
Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).Work Schedule:

This 6-week training program is designed to introduce Pharmacy Technicians to hospital based practice and will be a combination of clinical and technical competence including:- Classroom Lecture
- On-Site Training
- Unit dose training
- IV Room training
- Supervised shifts
- Final exam and performance review & evaluation
Location & Schedule:
- Weeks 1 & 2 at Adventist HealthCare Support Center in Gaithersburg, MD
- Weeks 3-6 at Shady Grove Medical Center, Rockville, MD
- Training program is a Monday
- Friday 8 hour shifts rotating between 6am
- 2:30 and 8am
- 4:30
- Post 6-week training program, the position becomes a standard full-time rotating shift position.
Pay Range:
$19.64- $25.65 If the salary range is listed as $0 or if the position is Per Diem (with a fixed rate), salary discussions will take place during the screening process.
