Duties Assist pharmacists with medication dispensing, including prescription entry, labeling, and verification to ensure accuracy and compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounded medications using aseptic techniques and sterile IV admixture procedures in accordance with pharmaceutical regulations Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering pharmaceuticals, and maintaining proper storage conditions to ensure medication availability and safety Support patient care activities by providing medication information, answering patient questions, and ensuring confidentiality of all patient data Utilize pharmacy software systems for data entry, prescription processing, and record keeping to streamline workflow and maintain regulatory compliance Perform drug regulation checks and ensure adherence to pharmaceutical regulatory standards during all pharmacy operations Maintain a clean, organized work environment by following proper aseptic techniques and sterile compounding procedures in hospital or clinical settings Requirements Valid certification as a Pharmacy Technician from an accredited program with active state licensure or registration Proven experience in LTC pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, or community pharmacy environments with familiarity in acute care or critical care settings preferred Knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations, medical terminology, pharmacological medical terminology, and drug regulation laws Hands-on experience with pharmacy software systems for medication management and data entry Demonstrated understanding of sterile IV infusion preparation, aseptic techniques, and sterile compounding procedures Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and team members Basic life support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications related to pharmaceutical regulations or compounding are advantageous Ability to maintain patient confidentiality while adhering to all applicable state healthcare regulations and federal laws governing pharmacy practice Embark on a fulfilling career path where your technical skills meet compassionate patient service.
