Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician Job Type Contract This contract opportunity offers a pivotal role for an experienced sterile compounding pharmacy technician within a
USP 797/800
cleanroom environment. Operating in a regulated compounding pharmacy setting, the technician will perform aseptic compounding and uphold stringent quality and compliance standards to ensure patient safety and product integrity.Schedule:
Monday through Friday 9:00 AM to 6:00PM Key Responsibilities:
Perform sterile compounding following validated aseptic techniques, USP 797 and 800 standards, and state/federal regulations. Maintain the ISO-classified cleanroom environment with regular cleaning, sanitization, and environmental controls. Conduct equipment setup, labeling, calculations, filtration, and detailed documentation with precision. Support production planning by preparing batches, staging materials, and collaborating closely with pharmacists and supervisors to meet daily targets. Engage in continuous improvement initiatives including root cause analysis and waste reduction to optimize workflow. Execute quality assurance activities such as visual inspections, sample handling, cleaning validations, and inventory rotation (FIFO). Adhere strictly to cleanroom garbing and gowning procedures to protect sterility and team safety. Communicate effectively on workload status, equipment issues, and process improvements to foster a collaborative environment.Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Prior experience as a sterile compounding pharmacy technician in a cleanroom environment. In-depth understanding of sterile techniques, aseptic behavior, and cleanroom operations. Proficient in interpreting detailed compounding formulas, batch records, and following written procedures. Competent in basic math calculations with a strong focus on accuracy and detail. Comfortable wearing PPE including masks, gowns, gloves, and sterile garments for extended periods. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced setting. Demonstrates ownership, accountability, and strict compliance within cleanroom protocols. Valid Michigan Pharmacy Technician License. Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or eligible to obtain certification within the required timeframe. This contract role offers a chance for direct hire based on performance and business needs.
