Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, where your expertise will directly impact patient care and medication safety. In this vital role, you will assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, managing pharmacy inventory, and providing exceptional patient service. Your critical care experience and knowledge of medical terminology will ensure accurate medication administration and adherence to aseptic techniques. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced hospital environment, supporting acute care units and LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy settings with professionalism and precision. Responsibilities Prepare and dispense medications accurately under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, including IV infusions and sterile compounding using aseptic techniques Assist with medication intake, verification, and reconciliation to ensure correct patient medication profiles Support patient service efforts by providing clear medication instructions and answering questions related to prescriptions Maintain meticulous pharmacy records, including inventory management, documentation of medication administration, and compliance with regulatory standards Collaborate with healthcare professionals in critical care and hospital settings to facilitate timely medication delivery and optimal patient outcomes Ensure proper storage of medications, monitor expiration dates, and assist in inventory audits for LTC pharmacy operations Follow all safety protocols related to aseptic technique, infection control, and medication handling in an acute care environment Qualifications Valid certification as a Pharmacy Technician from an accredited program; current certification required Proven experience working in LTC pharmacy or hospital settings, with a strong understanding of medical terminology and medication protocols Prior experience with IV infusion preparation and aseptic technique is highly desirable Demonstrated ability to provide excellent patient service and support patient care initiatives Knowledge of critical care procedures, medication administration processes, and intake procedures in acute care environments Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for inventory management and documentation compliance Ability to thrive in a fast-paced hospital setting while maintaining accuracy and professionalism Join us in making a meaningful difference by supporting healthcare teams dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care.
