Job Description

Pharmacy Technician II Accurately and safely performs technical functions (not requiring clinical/professional judgment) related to medication preparation, dispensing, billing, and inventory management. Medication preparation and dispensing activities will occur under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist and in accordance with applicable federal and state regulations, accrediting agency requirements, hospital policies, and pharmacy practice standards. Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple work functions, communicate effectively and courteously with patients and health care providers, and ensure reliable and timely medication delivery. High School Diploma or equivalent. Completion of Pharmacy Technician certificate or degree program is preferred but prior experience will be considered in addition to educational background. Must complete all required hospital continuing education programs. Registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy is required; certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board is preferred.
