Pharmacy Technician - RWJBarnabas Health At RWJBarnabas Health, the Pharmacy Technician plays an important role in supporting safe, efficient, and high-quality pharmaceutical services. Working under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician performs the technical, clerical, and manipulative tasks involved in dispensing, preparing, and distributing medications and pharmaceutical products. This role supports the medication needs of patients across age groups, including adult and geriatric populations. A typical day for a Pharmacy Technician may include: Assists the Registered Pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical services to patients Performs technical tasks involved in the dispensing of medications and pharmaceutical products under the direct supervision of the Registered Pharmacist Prepares medications and pharmaceutical products accurately and efficiently according to established pharmacy procedures Supports the distribution of medications and pharmaceutical products throughout the organization Performs clerical responsibilities necessary to support daily pharmacy operations Handles pharmaceutical products with careful attention to accuracy, safety, and established procedures Supports medication services for patients across age groups, including adult and geriatric populations Works collaboratively with the Registered Pharmacist to support timely and effective pharmaceutical services Follows established pharmacy procedures and professional standards while performing technical and manipulative tasks This role might be for you if: Clear, compassionate communication defines how you interact with patients, families, and colleagues Attention to detail and accuracy guide your work every day You remain dependable and adaptable while supporting a busy pharmacy environment Patient safety and accurate medication services are your top priorities You enjoy working collaboratively under the direction of a Registered Pharmacist and as part of a healthcare team You take pride in maintaining organized, efficient, and reliable pharmacy operations You understand the importance of following established procedures when working with medications and pharmaceutical products To be considered for this Pharmacy Technician opportunity: High school diploma or equivalent required Current New Jersey Board of Pharmacy registration in good standing required Proficiency in regulatory requirements and compliance with established hospital policies required PTCB certification preferred Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred Previous pharmacy experience preferred Candidates must be able to perform the technical, clerical, and manipulative functions required to support pharmaceutical services Candidates must be able to work under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist Ability to support the medication needs of adult and geriatric patient populations RWJBarnabas Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer Internal Apply External Apply
