Job Description
Cardinal Health is looking for a highly motivated technician to work in a company owned retail contract pharmacy. Our technicians play an important role in delivering medication and pharmaceutical care in communities that are most in need. This includes developing close relationships with patients in communities we serve and assisting the pharmacists in accurately preparing and delivering prescription medication. Pharmacy Technician (Community Health Center Pharmacy) This is a per diem position mainly covering PTOs and requires flexibility. Bilingual
- must be able to read, write, and speak both English and Spanish.
Pharmacy Hours:
Monday- Friday
Saturday:
8:30am- 5:00pm Tuesday
- Wednesday
Thursday:
8:30am- 7:00pm What is expected of you and others at this level: Applies acquired knowledge and skills to complete standard tasks Readily learns and applies new information and methods to work in assigned area Maintains appropriate licenses, training and certifications Works on routine assignments that require some problem resolution Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods Adheres to all quality guidelines Works under moderate degree of supervision Work typically involves regular review of output by work lead or supervisor Refers complex unusual problems to supervisor
Responsibilities:
Maintain professional working relationships at all times, with the pharmacy personnel, physicians, nurses, and other medical personnel. Understand that the requirements of working in a pharmacy are varied and may change as demands on the department change. Be available to the customer/patients at all times. Maintain friendly and helpful attitude at all times when dealing with customers. Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Organizes medications for pharmacist to dispense by profiling prescriptions; preparing labels and calculating quantities Ensures medication availability by delivering medications to patients and ordering when needed Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed Works with pharmacy team to ensure best practices are being followed with regards to 340B Qualifications:
High school degree or equivalent preferred State Pharmacy Technician license or national pharmacy technician registration/license required Previous experience working as a Pharmacy Technician is highly preferred Strong verbal and written communication skills required Strong customer service skills required Flexibility to work various shifts is preferred Comfortable performing repetitive motions/tasks is required Demonstrated ability to use technology such as computers, smartphones and tablets PTCB Certification or ability to get certified within 180 days of employment 340B experience preferred Bilingual- Must be able to read, write and speak English and Spanish Anticipated hourly range: $23.60per hour
