Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Compounding Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic pharmacy team. In this vital role, you will assist in preparing customized medications through sterile and non-sterile compounding processes, ensuring precise formulation and adherence to all safety and regulatory standards. Your expertise will directly contribute to providing personalized patient care, supporting clinical pharmacy services, and maintaining the highest levels of pharmaceutical accuracy and compliance. Responsibilities Prepare compounded medications accurately following prescribed formulas, and aseptic techniques. Ensure all compounding procedures comply with pharmaceutical regulations, pharmacy policies, and safety standards such as sterile technique and aseptic processing. Maintain meticulous records of medication preparation, data entry into pharmacy software systems, and documentation for regulatory compliance. Assist with medication inventory management, stock rotation, and proper storage of compounded medications. Work alongside compounding pharmacists on compounding lab requirements and procedures. Follow all state and federal pharmacy laws regarding drug regulation, compounding procedures, and PHI. Maintain a clean and sterile work environment by adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques during compounding procedures. Requirements Prior experience as a pharmacy technician, and some experience in non-sterile / sterile compounding pharmacy preferred. Knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations, drug regulation, and medical terminology relevant to pharmacy practice. Experience with pharmacy software systems for data entry, inventory management, and prescription processing. Certified Pharmacy Technician License required. Demonstrated understanding of aseptic technique, and pharmaceutical regulatory compliance. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to ensure accuracy in medication preparation and documentation. Ability to work effectively in an evolving environment while maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to all safety protocols. Ability to stand for extended periods, wear PPE (including respirators/masks as required), and work in a controlled cleanroom environment.
