Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, ensuring accurate medication management, and providing exceptional patient service. Your expertise will support the delivery of safe, efficient, and compliant pharmaceutical care across various healthcare settings, including hospital, community, and specialized pharmacy environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to patient health outcomes while working in a fast-paced, collaborative atmosphere. Responsibilities Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, including sterile IV infusion compounding and aseptic technique procedures. Manage medication inventory, perform data entry into pharmacy software systems, and ensure proper storage and labeling of pharmaceuticals. Support patient intake processes by verifying prescriptions, clarifying medication orders, and maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with privacy regulations. Prepare and dispense medications accurately while adhering to pharmaceutical calculations and drug regulation standards. Maintain compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws, pharmaceutical regulatory requirements, and hospital or community pharmacy protocols. Provide excellent patient service by answering questions, offering medication information, and supporting medication administration processes. Ensure sterile IV admixture procedures are performed following aseptic techniques to maintain safety and quality standards. Qualifications Prior experience as a Pharmacy Technician in LTC (Long-Term Care), critical care, clinical pharmacy, or hospital settings is highly desirable. Demonstrated knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations, drug regulation, medical terminology, and pharmacological medical terminology. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred; active pharmacy technician licensure or registration required where applicable. Experience with pharmacy software systems for data entry and medication management is essential. Strong understanding of sterile IV compounding, aseptic technique, and sterile IV admixture procedures. Familiarity with state healthcare regulations, drug regulation policies, and maintaining patient confidentiality is crucial. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced environments such as hospital or acute care settings.
