The Pharmacy Technician - Ambulatory supports a high-volume outpatient pharmacy at the Beachwood Family Health Center, where caregivers fill approximately 500-800 prescriptions per day, with the highest volumes occurring on Mondays and Tuesdays. This role is responsible for filling and preparing prescriptions, answering incoming phone calls, supporting patients at the front counter, and maintaining efficient workflow across multiple fill stations. Working alongside pharmacists and fellow technicians, caregivers help ensure accurate medication dispensing, excellent customer service, and timely prescription processing in a fast-paced ambulatory pharmacy environment. A caregiver in this role will work day and evening shifts based on departmental needs, with most shifts lasting 8 hours. The current weekend requirement is three Saturdays per quarter, scheduled from 7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. (closed for lunch from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.). Weekend expectations may increase in the future based on staffing and patient volume needs. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide distributive pharmacy services, assistance and support for the pharmacist in an ambulatory/outpatient setting. Prepare prescription orders for dispensing to patients. Maintain inventory for the outpatient pharmacy. Assist with extemporaneous compounding of prescriptions and bulk compounding of prescriptions and over the counter items. Operate the point-of-sale cash register system. Monitor and act on reorder points, restock prescription and non-prescription area and remove expiring products. Provide multi-pharmacy support in assigned areas as needed. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: High School Diploma/GED Upon hire, must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National HealthCareer Association (NHA). Upon hire, it is required to hold an active registration through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) as either a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician, or Pharmacy Technician Trainee. Caregivers with active Pharmacy Technician Trainee or Registered Pharmacy Technician registrations are required to update their registration to a Certified Pharmacy Technician registration with the OBOP within 6 months. Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program Six months of hospital experience

Physical Requirements:

Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing, reaching, stretching, stooping, and sitting for prolonged times; manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer, dispensing functions of the job; ability to lift up to 20 lbs. while walking, stooping, bending and reaching.

Pay Range Minimum hourly:

$21.50 Maximum hourly: $31.00 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires.
