Job Description

Pharmacy Intern / Part Time The Pharmacy Intern supports the safe, effective, and compliant preparation and distribution of medications, while offering opportunities to apply academic knowledge, develop technical skills, and contribute to high-quality patient care under the direct supervision of licensed pharmacists. Pharmacy Intern is an onsite position. Essential Functions Demonstrate working knowledge of pharmacy laws, professional standards, and hospital policies by accurately performing assigned duties under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Assist in receiving, storing, packaging, labeling, and distributing medications—ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, especially regarding controlled substances and drug recalls. Perform technical pharmacy tasks such as prescription label typing, compounding, and inventory management, using appropriate pharmaceutical math, terminology, and equipment. Maintain accurate records for drug receipt and distribution, including narcotic inventory, expired medications, and pharmacy documentation, as directed by the pharmacist. Support the pharmacy team by following precise oral and written instructions, participating in medication deliveries, and filling in for pharmacy technicians as needed. Prepare, prevent, protect and respond to support our culture of safety. Works hours per week in accordance with offer letter or per attributes of position at transfer request. May be expected to work longer hours as necessary. Other duties as assigned.
