• Job Description Summary:

• Under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, performs any or all of the functions of the department as assigned according to established procedure.

Based on ability, experience, and performance, performs the increasingly judgmental activities of a pharmacist pursuant to State Board of Pharmacy rules and regulations. Under supervision, gains the practical experience necessary to function competently and effectively upon licensure.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma.
• Must be actively enrolled in a College of Pharmacy.
• Must have active Ohio Pharmacy Intern License.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE

Must be actively pursuing licensure as a Registered Pharmacist through completion of academic and/or post-graduate Experience requirements. Registration with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Intern.

• Responsibilities And Duties:

• 25% Obtain, prepare, and label pharmacy products according to department policy for final distribution.

15% Under the direction of a registered pharmacist, review and interpret orders for pharmacy products needed for patient care, perform any necessary interventions, and process according to department policy and procedure. 15% Produce billing, monitoring, and usage documentation of pharmacy products for proper billing and inventory purposes. 5% Maintain sufficient inventory of pharmacy products to enable efficient distribution. 10% Provide information via phone/in person to other healthcare professionals and/or customers. 5% Submit medication charge data to assure proper reimbursement. 5% May assist in training technicians, externs and interns in technical aspects of duties. 5% Participate in special projects when necessary.
