Job Description
Paragon Rx is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist our licensed pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, managing inventory, and providing exceptional customer service to our patients. This role is essential to ensuring the pharmacy operates safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with all regulations. Responsibilities Prescription processing and dispensing:
Receive and verify prescription orders, checking for completeness and accuracy. Precisely measure, count, and label medications for dispensing. Prepare and package medications for patients. Ensure all prescription data is accurately entered into the pharmacy's computer system. Provide outstanding patient service by answering questions and addressing concerns regarding medication administration.Pharmacy operations and inventory:
Manage and organize medication inventory, including stocking shelves and placing orders. Conduct regular inventory counts and monitor for expired or recalled medications. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including sterilizing equipment and preparation surfaces. Securely store controlled substances and other sensitive medications.Administrative and regulatory compliance:
Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with HIPAA. Adhere to all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations. Assist with recordkeeping and report generation as assigned by the Pharmacist-in-Charge.Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.Licensing and Certification:
Must hold an active, state-registered Pharmacy Technician license in good standing.Experience:
Previous experience in a retail, hospital, or long-term care pharmacy setting is preferred.Skills:
Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Effective verbal and written communication. Strong computer proficiency and experience with pharmacy management software. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Dedication to providing a high level of customer service. Physical Demands and Work Environment Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive movements. Ability to lift up to [e.g., 20 or 30] pounds.
