Position Summary The Pharmacy Technician supports the licensed pharmacist in providing safe, efficient, and high-quality pharmaceutical care to patients of Compassion Health Toledo. This role is essential in ensuring accurate medication preparation, dispensing, inventory management, and patient care, while providing a welcoming, respectful, and compassionate experience for every individual served. Key Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
• Verify prescription information and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and support electronic health record (EHR) documentation.
• Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, stocking, and rotating medications.
• Provide excellent customer service with warmth and professionalism, ensuring patients feel respected, supported, and heard.
• Communicate clearly with patients about prescriptions, wait times, and next steps, and refer clinical questions to the pharmacist as appropriate.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized pharmacy work environment.
• Collaborate with clinical and care coordination teams to support patient care and community health initiatives.
• Uphold confidentiality standards under HIPAA and organizational policies. Required Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current certification as a Pharmacy Technician with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or equivalent.
• Active registration/licensure with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy.
• At least 1 year of pharmacy experience (retail, hospital, or clinical setting preferred).
• Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
• Dedication to creating a positive experience for patients through empathy, patience, and clear communication.

• Possession of a valid driver's license.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug and criminal background check.
• Compliance with Compassion Health Toledo's Drug- and Tobacco-Free Workplace Policy (includes marijuana).
• Compliance with Compassion Health's vaccination requirements for employees working in patient care or clinical areas.
• Annual influenza vaccination.
• Completion of all required immunizations to work with patients. Working Conditions and Physical Effort
• Minimal exposure to physical risk.
• Must be able to lift 25-30 pounds.
• Work is typically performed in a standard interior office, pharmacy, or clinical environment. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required. Experience serving diverse patient populations is a plus. Additional Information
• Full-time, hourly position (40 hours per week).
• Starting pay: $18-$22 per hour, based on experience.

Schedule:

Primarily Monday-Friday during clinic hours. Occasional evenings or weekends may be required based on patient and program needs.
