Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician - IV Certified Job Type Contract A pharmacy technician position is available for a 4-month contract in Owasso, OK, focusing on IV/home infusion services. The role requires an Oklahoma pharmacy technician license in-hand and IV certification, with immediate start and assignment through December 31. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Responsibilities:
Compound sterile infusions and prepare medications following strict procedures. Accept and dispense prescription medications while monitoring patient compliance. Maintain confidential patient and pharmacy records accurately. Provide patient consultations regarding medication usage, side effects, and drug interactions. Educate patients on the proper handling of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters. Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks. Manage pharmaceutical inventory and ensure compliance with legal requirements. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to address drug-related problems and optimize therapies.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
Current Oklahoma pharmacy technician license. IV certification with compounding experience in infused drugs. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Familiarity with evaluating and monitoring drug therapies for home care patients. Membership in pharmacy professional organizations is a plus.
