Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will support pharmacists in dispensing medications, managing patient care, and ensuring compliance with all pharmaceutical regulations. Your expertise will help deliver safe, efficient, and compassionate pharmacy services across various healthcare settings, including hospital, community, and specialized care environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to patient health outcomes while working in a dynamic and supportive environment. Responsibilities Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, including sterile IV admixture procedures and compounding medications with aseptic technique. Manage medication inventory, perform data entry into pharmacy software systems, and ensure accurate medication labeling and documentation. Support patient service activities such as medication intake, drug regulation compliance, and providing clear medication instructions. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times while handling sensitive health information in accordance with state and federal healthcare regulations. Prepare and dispense medications accurately for various settings including hospital pharmacy, LTC (Long-Term Care), critical care units, and community pharmacies. Ensure pharmaceutical regulatory compliance by adhering to drug regulation standards and pharmacy laws governing medication management. Provide excellent customer service by assisting patients and healthcare providers with medication questions, refills, and other pharmacy-related needs. Skills Proven experience as a Pharmacy Technician with LTC pharmacy experience or hospital pharmacy background preferred. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacological medical terminology, and acute care procedures. Skilled in pharmaceutical calculations for accurate dosing and medication compounding. Experience with pharmacy software systems for data entry, inventory management, and prescription processing. Familiarity with sterile IV infusion techniques, aseptic procedures, and sterile IV admixture processes. Knowledge of state healthcare laws, drug regulation policies, and federal pharmacy laws to ensure compliance. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality while managing sensitive health information responsibly. Critical care experience or hospital experience is highly desirable for this role. Pay:
