Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. Duties Prepare and dispense medications accurately under the supervision of licensed pharmacists, including sterile IV admixture and compounding medications using aseptic techniques. Manage medication inventory, including stock replenishment, expiration date monitoring, and proper storage in accordance with pharmaceutical regulations. Perform data entry of prescriptions and patient information into pharmacy software systems with precision to ensure accurate record-keeping. Assist in patient intake processes by verifying prescriptions, clarifying medication orders, and providing basic patient service support. Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws, drug regulation policies, and pharmaceutical regulatory standards at all times. Support the preparation of IV infusions and sterile medications for acute care settings while maintaining strict aseptic procedures. Maintain patient confidentiality by adhering to privacy policies and safeguarding sensitive health information. Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries professionally and assisting healthcare providers with medication-related needs. Skills Proven experience as a Pharmacy Technician in LTC (Long-Term Care), hospital, or community pharmacy environments. Knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations, medical terminology, and pharmacological medical terminology relevant to medication dispensing. Familiarity with hospital pharmacy operations, including hospital experience and sterile IV compounding procedures. Proficiency with pharmacy software systems for data entry, medication tracking, and inventory management. Strong understanding of state healthcare regulations, drug regulation laws, and pharmacy practice standards. Excellent attention to detail combined with organizational skills necessary for accurate medication preparation and record keeping. Ability to work effectively within a team while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety standards such as Basic Life Support (BLS).
