We are a growing, independently-owned retail pharmacy that specializes in the practice of compounding. This "hybrid" position centers on the retail side of our operations (prescription data entry, fielding incoming phone calls from patients and providers, etc.) while also featuring a role assisting staff in our compounding lab spaces (finishing/packaging compounded prescriptions, utilizing various types of equipment and mixers, cleaning labware, etc.) . We do not bill insurance. We are closed on weekends, weeknights, and major holidays. The employee will initially be trained on the retail side of the business before learning aspects of the laboratory operations. Job responsibilities may include : Fielding incoming phone calls from patients and doctors Entering patient, prescription, and drug information into a computer. Running a cash register Providing excellent customer service with enthusiasm, friendliness, and efficiency Maintaining pharmacy records Retrieving messages from company voicemail and email inboxes Producing prescription labels and formula worksheets from a computer Effectively and concisely communicating with patients via our texting program Checking-in pharmacy orders Non-sterile compounding (working with hazardous and non-hazardous drugs in a laboratory setting while following a formula to produce creams, liquids, capsules, suppositories, troches, rapid dissolve tablets, pet treats, and other various dosage forms) Utilizing equipment and devices (balances, mortars, pestles, electronic mixers, ointment mills, hot plates, tube sealers, capsule machines, convection ovens, etc.) to produce the finished compound Packaging the finished compound in various types of containers and dispensers Washing compounding labware Cleaning and maintenance of workstation, laboratory, and other areas of the pharmacy Inventory control/monitoring Counting pills, tablets, capsules and placing them in a container Ensuring compliance with applicable pharmacy laws and regulations Preparing shipping labels for finished orders Packaging and labeling finished orders that need to be shipped Previous experience in a pharmacy setting is preferred . If not already registered, employee must be registered with the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician, or pharmacy technician trainee, before being hired. Applicant must be motivated, organized, attentive to detail, and eager to learn about this interesting niche of retail pharmacy practice. A friendly, energetic, positive personality that is comfortable working in a team environment is required. This position requires availability to work 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday.
Two options exist:
Four days per week from 7am-530pm, with a rotating weekday off; or five 8-hour days from 9am-530pm. The pharmacy is closed on weekends, weeknights, and major holidays.
Projected Starting Hourly Pay Rate:
$17.00-20.00/hr Full-time employees are eligible for the following benefits (after 90 days of employment): health insurance (employee pays 25% of their monthly medical premium and 100% of any add-ons) participation in company's Simple IRA plan paid holidays discounts on pharmacy merchandise annual bonus 120 hours paid-time-off annually (earned on an accrual basis). After 5 years, paid-time-off allowance increases to 160 hours annually. After 15 years, paid-time-off allowance increases to 200 hours annually. Ability to earn extra paid-time-off throughout the year (based on attendance and dependability) and roll unused sick time over to the following year as additional vacation time.
