Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician Job Type Contract A remote Pharmacy Technician opportunity is available for candidates with a PTCB certification and at least three years of experience. This temp-to-hire role focuses on Medicare Part B medication prior authorizations, utilization management, and supporting pharmacy operations through established protocols and effective communication.
Location:
Remote Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 11:30 AM - 8:00 PM ET and 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM ET (shifts may vary) Mandatory rotating weekends No days off from January 1 to March 31, except for emergencies
Contract Duration:
Approximately 6 months
Key Responsibilities:
Review and process prior authorization requests using decision trees and established policies Triage and enter incoming authorization requests from providers Support Medicare Part B medication prior authorizations and preferred product strategies Contact provider offices and hospitals to obtain clinical documentation Communicate authorization decisions and follow up with providers and members as necessary Assist in identifying alternative treatment options when required Provide operational support to Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacists, and Physicians to ensure timely decisions Act as a liaison among internal teams, external providers, and operational partners Support offshore clinical partners involved in utilization management workflows Interpret plan benefits and enter specialty pharmacy overrides for accurate claim adjudication
Qualifications:
PTCB certification required Minimum three years of Pharmacy Technician experience Strong background in Medicare Part B operations, utilization management, prior authorizations, medical benefits, or pharmacy help desk support Experience working with the Medicare population Proficient in technology including multiple systems and Google Workspace/G Suite Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and excellent communication abilities Prior utilization management and prior authorization experience highly preferred This contract to hire position offers equipment provided by the employer to support your work.
