Remote Pharmacy Technician -
Prior Authorization Specialist Location:
Fully Remote Job Description + We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Pharmacy Technician to join our team in a fully remote Prior Authorization role. In this position, you will review prior authorization requests submitted by providers and pharmacies and assist in making coverage determinations based on member plan criteria and clinical guidelines. This is an excellent opportunity for pharmacy technicians with prior authorization experience who are looking to transition into a remote healthcare environment. Responsibilities + Review prior authorization requests submitted by providers and pharmacies. + Analyze documentation and determine coverage eligibility based on member benefit plans and established criteria. + Accurately enter and maintain data within internal systems. + Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, pharmacies, and internal teams regarding authorization requests. + Ensure timely processing of requests while maintaining quality and compliance standards. Required Qualifications + Active State Pharmacy Technician License. + Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred. + Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician. + Prior authorization experience required. + Strong data entry and computer skills. + Excellent communication and customer service abilities. + Ability to work independently in a remote environment. Preferred Qualifications + Experience working in retail pharmacy, managed care, or healthcare settings. + Knowledge of pharmacy benefit management and insurance authorization processes. + Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Schedule Shift:
Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM (8-hour shift scheduled within these business hours)Additional Requirements:
+ Rotating weekend coverage approximately every 5 to 6 weeks + Weekend rotation includes both Saturday and Sunday + Occasional holiday coverage may be required based on business needs Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Austin, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
