In this vital role, you will support pharmacists by preparing and dispensing medications, managing medication inventory, and ensuring accurate patient records. Your dedication to precision and patient service will contribute to a seamless pharmacy operation in fast-paced hospital or LTC (Long-Term Care) settings. Responsibilities Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, including IV infusions and aseptic compounding for critical care and acute care patients Manage medication inventory, including stocking, labeling, and organizing supplies to ensure availability and compliance with safety standards Verify prescriptions for accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness using medical terminology and clinical guidelines Support patient intake processes by gathering relevant information and documenting medication histories accurately Ensure proper medication storage following safety protocols and aseptic techniques to prevent contamination or errors Maintain detailed records of medication administration, inventory logs, and patient interactions in accordance with hospital policies Collaborate with healthcare teams to facilitate smooth medication delivery and address patient service needs efficiently Requirements Proven pharmacy technician experience with a focus on LTC pharmacy or hospital environments Critical care experience highly preferred, including familiarity with IV infusion procedures and aseptic technique Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration protocols, and acute care practices Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to patient care Ability to handle intake procedures accurately while maintaining attention to detail Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast-paced hospital or LTC settings while adhering to safety standards Certification as a pharmacy technician (or equivalent) required; ongoing education in medical terminology or aseptic techniques is a plus Embark on a fulfilling career where your skills make a real difference!
