Siskin Hospital for Physical Rehabilitation is seeking a Certified, Registered Pharmacy Technician to assist the pharmacist by providing technical support for the provision of pharmaceutical care and pharmacy services to patients, physicians, and ancillary departments as assigned, and other duties as assigned by Director. This position will cover mostly weekend shifts, with some availability for weekday shifts. Our Pharmacy Techs report to the Pharmacy Director and the staff pharmacist in Director's absence. This position requires -

Education:

High School or Equivalent. 20 hours Continuing Education every two years.

Experience:

Proficient knowledge of drug names and basic inventory control. Inpatient hospital experience preferred, but will consider outpatient experience. Proficient basic computer skills required.

Licensure/Certification:

Pharmacy Technician Certification highly preferred TN State Registration required

Skills/Competencies:

- The certified pharmacy technician must have training in: Computer applications (data entry, e-mail, word processing, basic printer knowledge) Sterile compounding Electronic MAR/ Auto-dispenser (MDG/Med-Dispense) Unit dose packaging Personal initiative Understanding of role in customer satisfaction Inventory management Filing/ Report management Work closely with Pharmacists to serve patients, families, physicians, and nurses Clinical Reviews as required by pharmacist Other special duties as assigned Physical / Mental Requirements- The position requires the ability to receive detailed/technical information The position requires the ability to communicate effectively with health care team members as well as patients and families The position requires the ability to move about the hospital environment The position requires the ability to be able to lift, push and pull objects, as well as significant manual dexterity Visual requirements include: close vision, distance, and color discrimination Siskin Hospital is a Smoke-Free Facility!!
