Responsibilities Assist licensed pharmacists with dispensing medications accurately and efficiently, adhering to drug dosages and formulary management protocols Support patient service activities by answering medication-related questions and providing basic medication counseling under supervision Prepare and label prescriptions following pharmaceutical calculations and safety guidelines to ensure correct drug dosages and administration Maintain strict patient confidentiality while managing sensitive health information in compliance with hospital policies and federal laws Collaborate with healthcare professionals to verify medication orders, review medical terminology, and ensure regulatory compliance for drug regulation standards Participate in immunizations and vaccination administration programs, supporting public health initiatives within the hospital setting Assist with inventory management, including stock replenishment, expiration date monitoring, and documentation of pharmaceutical supplies Qualifications Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited pharmacy program or related healthcare field Demonstrated clinical pharmacy experience or coursework related to pharmaceutical calculations, drug regulation, and hospital pharmacy operations Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain prior to start date Strong understanding of medical terminology, immunizations, drug dosages, and formulary management practices Excellent patient interaction skills coupled with a customer service mindset Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals across disciplines Knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws governing drug regulation and vaccination procedures Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to all safety protocols This paid internship is designed not only to enhance your practical skills but also to immerse you in the vital role pharmacists play within healthcare teams.
