Our clients are served by phone, which means our technicians spend their day on accurate prescription processing and fulfillment instead of managing a line. We are hiring a Pharmacy Technician to handle prescription data entry, pull and label medications, support our fulfillment workflow, and manage inventory. Responsibilities Prescription Processing Enter patient and drug data into the pharmacy management system with a high standard of accuracy. Read and correctly interpret prescriber directions, including standard medical and pharmacy abbreviations, and translate them into accurate directions for use. Verify that each prescription is complete and legible, and route incomplete or unclear orders to the pharmacist for clarification. Process refill requests and coordinate refill authorization follow-up with prescriber offices. Maintain accurate profiles, including allergies, and shipping information. Dispensing & Fulfillment Support Pull the correct medication vials against the prescription record, confirming drug, strength, form, lot, and expiration date. Generate, apply, and proof prescription labels for accuracy before pharmacist verification. Stage and organize prepared orders for pharmacist final check and for shipping or delivery. Support the fulfillment chain end to end — from order intake through packaging and hand-off — keeping each order traceable at every step. Present every prescription to the pharmacist for final verification. All clinical judgment and final check remain with the pharmacist. Inventory Management Receive incoming shipments, reconcile against invoices, and stock pharmacy shelves in correct storage locations. Perform routine expiration date checks and remove short-dated and expired stock on the established schedule. Monitor stock levels, flag reorder points, and assist with purchasing and cycle counts. Follow proper storage requirements, including refrigerated and controlled-temperature items, and document temperature logs as assigned. Maintain a clean, orderly, and inspection-ready workspace at all times. Client Service & Phone Support Answer inbound client calls professionally regarding order status, refills, shipping, and general account questions. Place outbound calls to clients and prescriber offices for refill coordination, order confirmation, and information requests. Refer all clinical questions - dosing, side effects, interactions, therapeutic substitution - to a pharmacist without exception. Document call outcomes in the record clearly and at the time of the call. Maintain confidentiality and full HIPAA compliance in every call and every record. Required Experience High school diploma or GED. Active Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP), in good standing. Basic computer skills and a typing speed of at least 25-35 WPM. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including a professional phone manner. Basic math skills, including days supply, quantity, and dosage calculations. Working knowledge of common medical and pharmacy abbreviations, or the ability to learn them quickly. Consistent accuracy and attention to detail in data entry and product selection.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Retail pharmacy experience - Walgreens, CVS, Walmart, United Supermarkets, Market Street, or similar. Active national certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through PTCB or NHA (ExCPT). Inventory, receiving, or purchasing experience in a pharmacy setting.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

Ability to stand and walk for long periods throughout the shift. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to reach, bend, and access stock at floor and overhead shelf levels. Visual acuity sufficient to read fine print on labels, vials, and packaging. Extended periods of computer and telephone work. Indoor pharmacy environment. No public-facing retail floor.

Pay:

$15.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
