Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician Job Type Contract Responsible for supporting pharmacy operations in Cibolo, TX, this position requires a skilled Pharmacy Technician to provide immediate coverage from Monday the 14th until a permanent hire is secured. This contract opportunity involves an afternoon to evening shift from 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM, playing a critical role in medication preparation and dispensing within a fast-paced pharmacy environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare medications by accurately reading prescriptions, calculating dosages, measuring, mixing, counting, and labeling medications for pharmacist dispensing. Dispense medications, process insurance claims, maintain patient profiles, and file prescriptions with attention to detail and compliance. Manage inventory by tracking stock levels, entering orders, rotating stock, and ordering necessary supplies to maintain smooth pharmacy operations. Support daily pharmacy workflow including opening and closing duties to ensure timely and efficient service delivery. Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, clinicians, and internal teams, assisting with medication awareness and customer support. Adhere to safety standards, complete quality checks, and maintain a clean, organized work environment. Perform specialized tasks if required, such as operating dispensing robotics, supporting IV room activities, and compounding sterile or non-sterile preparations.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician, proficient in prescription processing and inventory management. Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure. Excellent communication skills and team collaboration. Knowledge of pharmacy operations, insurance claim processing, and compliance requirements. Familiarity with sterile and non-sterile compounding or automated dispensing systems is a plus.
