Job Summary The Pharmacy Technician I assists the Pharmacist and other hospital staff in providing quality care to patients by applying knowledge and training of medication distribution.
Reports to:
Job Specific Responsibilities Daily assignments may include but are not limited to:- Accurately process medication orders and requests, gather and dispense medications
- Deliver drugs to assigned units
- Maintain daily pharmacy logs
- Assist in inventory control, answer phones, and other assigned duties by the Pharmacist and/or Pharmacy Supervisor
- All other assigned duties related to Pharmacy Compliance Education and Experience-
- High School Diploma or GED Required Licensures/Certifications/Registrations
- Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the State of Texas Board of Pharmacy Skills and Abilities-
- Demonstrated combination of training and experience that requires concentration, accuracy, and discipline
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships Daily interaction with other staff within the Pharmacy department.
