Responsibilities Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately, including sterile IV infusions and compounded medications. Perform data entry into pharmacy software systems with precision to ensure correct medication orders and patient records. Maintain strict adherence to pharmaceutical regulatory compliance, including state and federal pharmacy laws. Conduct pharmaceutical calculations to verify dosages and ensure safe medication administration. Support clinical pharmacy activities such as medication reconciliation, intake assessments, and patient education. Follow aseptic techniques and sterile IV admixture procedures during compounding to ensure patient safety. Ensure the confidentiality of patient information while managing sensitive medical data. Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and verifying drug expiration dates. Support hospital or community pharmacy operations by providing excellent customer service and addressing patient inquiries. Comply with all hospital or pharmacy policies related to drug regulation, medical terminology, and pharmacological procedures. Skills Proven experience as a pharmacy technician in LTC (Long-Term Care), hospital, or community pharmacy settings. Critical care experience and familiarity with acute care environments enhance your ability to support complex medication regimens. Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations, drug regulation, and medical terminology relevant to pharmacy practice. Hands-on experience with pharmacy software systems for prescription processing and data management. Skilled in IV compounding, sterile technique, and aseptic procedures necessary for safe medication preparation. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient care and communication. Ability to perform pharmaceutical calculations accurately under time constraints. Knowledge of state healthcare regulations, drug regulation policies, and federal pharmacy laws is essential. Experience with medication administration processes within hospital or clinical settings. Competence in maintaining patient confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines. Familiarity with pharmaceutical regulatory compliance standards related to compounded medications and sterile procedures. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
