Pharmacy Professionals:
Responsibilities:
The pharmacy technician I, under the supervision of a pharmacist, will assist in the technical, non-clinical aspects of preparing medications for dispensing and assist in pharmacy operations. Has the ability to participate as a member of a team with reliability and punctuality. Does related work, as required. Complete all onboarding, training, and annual competencies to meet regulatory agencies and organizational requirements. Trained in the compounding of non-sterile medications in accordance with USP 795 and other regulatory agencies and organizational policies. Accurately restock and replenish the pharmacy with inventory from orders as well as medications received from returns from the floor or automated dispensing machines. Maintain the pharmacy in a neat, organized, and clean manner, restocking areas with supplies as needed. Ensure all expired, damaged, or compromised medication in the pharmacy, automated machines, and floor stock are removed and segregated from active inventory. Maintain appropriate documentation of activities in accordance with policy, and file appropriate documentation records in a neat and retrievable manner. Assist in training of newly hired pharmacy technicians. Prepare sterile intravenous admixtures aseptically and in accordance with USP 797/800, State Board of Pharmacy regulations, and organizational policies.
Qualifications:
Job Requirements:
High School graduate or GED. Active Registered Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Texas Board of Pharmacy.
Preferred Job Requirements:
1 year of previous hospital pharmacy technician experience. National Certification (CPhT). Current BLS.
