Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Pharmacy Technician in Training! This position offers a unique opportunity to develop foundational skills in pharmacy operations, customer service and patient care within a community pharmacy setting. As a Pharmacy Technician in Training, you will work closely with licensed pharmacists and experienced technicians to gain hands-on experience in pharmaceutical procedures, regulatory compliance, and patient service. This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to launch their career in pharmacy while making a meaningful difference in patient health outcomes. Duties Assist a certified technician in preparing prescriptions and customer care at the register. Support the accurate data entry of prescriptions and patient information into pharmacy software systems while maintaining strict patient confidentiality. Learn and adhere to state and federal pharmacy laws, pharmaceutical regulations, and hospital or community pharmacy policies. Participate in medication inventory management, including stock replenishment and expiration date monitoring. Help with patient intake processes, including verifying prescription details and providing basic patient service under supervision. Support drug regulation compliance by ensuring proper documentation of medication dispensing and storage procedures. Contribute to maintaining a safe environment by practicing basic life support skills when necessary and following infection control protocols. Skills Basic knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacological terminology, and drug regulation standards. Familiarity with pharmacy software applications and data entry procedures. Strong attention to detail for pharmaceutical calculations, medication labeling, and inventory management. Excellent customer service skills to assist patients with inquiries and provide compassionate care. Knowledge of community pharmacy operations, including medication administration protocols. Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to all applicable healthcare regulations and laws.
