Job Description

Position Summary:
The Front Desk Pharmacy Technician / Pharmacy Technician Trainee serves as a primary point of contact for StrikerRx patients and providers while supporting daily pharmacy operations. The role combines patient and provider service with pharmacy support responsibilities, including high-volume phone and message management, prescription intake, data entry, documentation, and coordination of patient and prescription requests. The position is responsible for delivering a positive, professional, and patient-centered experience through both in-person lobby interactions and phone communications. The role requires actively listening to understand patient needs, communicating clearly and empathetically, resolving routine concerns, and ensuring more complex matters are directed to the appropriate team member.
Essential Functions:
Provides a welcoming and positive patient experience by engaging patients in a personable, professional, and empathetic manner; actively listening to understand their needs; communicating clearly; and taking a patient, solution-oriented approach to resolving concerns. Manages a high volume of incoming pharmacy calls and messages, accurately documents requests, and routes clinical questions or matters requiring pharmacist involvement appropriately. Performs patient and prescription intake by collecting and accurately entering demographic, prescriber, prescription, insurance, and other required information. Processes prescription and refill information within the authorized pharmacy technician scope and identifies incomplete or unclear information for appropriate follow-up. Maintains accurate patient profiles, pharmacy records, and documentation while protecting patient confidentiality and following established pharmacy procedures. Supports pharmacy workflow through prescription data entry, insurance claim processing, labeling, preparation, packaging and inventory. Coordinates with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, provider offices, and shipping teams to resolve issues and keep patient requests and prescriptions moving efficiently. Identifies errors, discrepancies, workflow concerns, or matters outside the authorized scope of the position and escalates them to the appropriate pharmacist or supervisor. Performs other duties as assigned consistent with the position, operational needs, and applicable requirements
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Pharmacy Technician registration/license, as applicable to the position and state requirements. Previous pharmacy, healthcare, medical office, call center, hospitality, or customer-service experience, preferred. Familiarity with pharmacy systems, prescription processing, insurance claims, or pharmacy terminology Strong customer service, active listening, and professional verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize work, solve routine problems, and maintain accuracy in a high-volume environment. Strong attention to detail and accurate data-entry skills. Ability to learn pharmacy terminology, sig codes, basic pharmacy calculations, pharmacy software, and established pharmacy procedures. Proficiency with email, Microsoft Teams, and standard office technology. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and recognize when pharmacist or supervisor involvement is required.

Working Conditions:
This position primarily operates in a professional office and pharmacy production environment and may require occasional movement throughout operational areas.
