Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support pharmacy operations by accurately preparing and dispensing medications, assisting with patient care, and maintaining compliance with safety standards. This role offers an opportunity to work in diverse settings, including LTC pharmacies, hospitals, and acute care environments, contributing directly to patient health and safety. Duties Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, including IV infusions and aseptic techniques Manage medication intake processes and ensure accurate documentation Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions and supporting medication administration Maintain inventory levels, stock medications, and ensure proper storage according to regulations Support critical care and acute care units with specialized medication needs Follow all safety protocols to uphold aseptic techniques and prevent contamination Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely medication delivery and patient care continuity Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, prescription processing, and record keeping Skills Proven experience as a pharmacy technician, with knowledge of pharmacy operations and medication handling Strong understanding of medical terminology, medication administration, and hospital procedures Experience working in LTC pharmacy, critical care, or acute care settings is highly desirable Familiarity with IV infusion preparation and aseptic techniques Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to patient care Ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced healthcare environments Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate documentation and inventory management Knowledge of pharmacy software systems and medication safety protocols This position is integral to delivering high-quality patient care through precise medication management.
