Job Overview We are seeking a dependable, energetic, and detail-oriented Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our independent retail pharmacy team. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, customer-service focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced pharmacy environment. This position plays an important role in supporting the pharmacist, maintaining an efficient prescription workflow, assisting patients, managing inventory, and helping ensure prescriptions are processed accurately and on time. Previous retail pharmacy experience is strongly preferred. Experience with PioneerRx pharmacy software is highly desirable. Immunization administration certification/training is a plus and will be greatly appreciated. Key Responsibilities Assist the pharmacist with the accurate preparation and processing of prescriptions. Enter and process prescriptions, refills, insurance claims, and patient information. Communicate with patients, prescribers, and insurance companies regarding prescriptions, refills, prior authorizations, and coverage issues. Provide friendly, professional, and efficient customer service in person and by phone. Help maintain an organized prescription workflow and ensure prescriptions are completed in a timely manner. Manage medication inventory, including ordering, receiving, restocking, checking stock levels, and monitoring expired medications. Prepare, count, package, and label medications under pharmacist supervision. Assist with medication synchronization and refill follow-up. Process payments and maintain accurate patient and prescription records. Support pharmacy delivery operations when necessary. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional pharmacy work environment. Follow all applicable federal and Texas pharmacy regulations, HIPAA requirements, and pharmacy policies and procedures. Work collaboratively with pharmacists, technicians, clerks, and other team members to maintain an efficient workflow. QualificationsRequired Active Texas Pharmacy Technician Registration in good standing. Pharmacy Technician certification, when required for the position. Strong attention to detail and commitment to prescription accuracy and patient safety. Excellent communication and customer-service skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a busy retail pharmacy. Dependable, punctual, professional, and able to work effectively as part of a team. Basic computer and data-entry skills. Preferred Previous retail pharmacy experience. Experience using PioneerRx pharmacy software. Immunization administration certification or training. Experience processing third-party insurance claims, rejections, prior authorizations, and refill requests. Experience with medication synchronization, inventory management, and pharmacy delivery workflow. Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are highly valued.
