Summary:
The Pharmacy Technician position is critical to the day-to-day operation of the pharmacy. The Pharmacy Technician works directly with the pharmacist to provide exceptional customer service, and ensure the safe and accurate dispensing of medications. Technicians perform vital functions to support the patient care efforts of the pharmacy team with roles and responsibilities that continue to expand and evolve.

Required to maintain utmost level of accuracy while processing prescriptions. The slightest error can be detrimental to the patient's health. While processing prescriptions, paying attention to any allergies and drug intolerance is vital.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for the following, but not limited to: Accurately and efficiently prepare prescriptions by measuring, counting or picking, labeling, and packaging medications. Monitor pharmacy inventory levels, order medications and supplies, and maintain proper storage conditions. Provide exceptional customer service to patients by answering inquiries, processing transactions, and addressing concerns. Enter prescription and patient information into computer system, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. Verify insurance coverage, process insurance claims, assist with resolving prior authorizations, and helps patients understand their insurance benefits. Contact patients and providers for refills to ensure that patients are adhering to their medications as prescribed. Assist with administrative tasks such as greeting patients and visitors, answering phones, organizing, filing prescriptions and other correspondence, printing reports, distributing and mailing prescriptions. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Education Requirements:
To perform the job successfully, an individual must have the following: High School diploma or equivalent 2+ years of experience in retail or mail order pharmacy State-specific pharmacy license required Completion of a pharmacy technician training program preferred Pharmacy Technician Board Certification is a plus Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and best practices. Proficiency in pharmacy management software and technology.
Pay:
$18.37 - $23.00 per hour
