Pharmacy Technician Specialist Job Type/Hours per Week Full-Time/ 40/Hrs per week Salary Salary depends on education and relevant experience. Hiring Department Retail Pharmacy Location This position is located at the UT Tyler Health Science Center campus. Job Summary The Pharmacy Quality and Reconciliation Coordinator is a shared position supporting North Campus Pharmacy and HOPE Pharmacy across both retail and specialty pharmacy operations. This position coordinates quality management, accreditation readiness, regulatory compliance, performance improvement, policy maintenance, and pharmacy claims reconciliation for both locations. The Coordinator serves as a centralized resource for quality documentation, accounts receivable monitoring, payment and remittance reconciliation, audit preparation, corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs), and performance reporting. The position works collaboratively with pharmacy leadership, finance, accounting, payers, pharmacy services administrative organizations (PSAOs), and interdisciplinary teams to support accurate financial reporting, continuous survey readiness, patient safety, and consistent pharmacy operations across both sites. Major Responsibilities/Duties/Critical Tasks Coordinates implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Pharmacy Quality Management Program (QMP) for North and HOPE retail and specialty pharmacy operations. Supports development of annual quality goals, performance measures, and quality improvement projects in collaboration with pharmacy leadership. Tracks Quality Improvement Projects (QIPs), CAPAs, action plans, responsible parties, target dates, and documented outcomes. Identifies trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement through review of clinical, operational, financial, and patient experience data. Coordinates Quality Management Committee activities, including agendas, supporting materials, meeting minutes, and follow-up of action items. Promotes standardized processes and consistent quality expectations across both pharmacy locations. Required Education/Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Three (3) years of healthcare, pharmacy, revenue-cycle, claims, quality, compliance, or related experience required. Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, and other electronic tracking or reporting systems required. A combination of education and experience may be considered. Required Certifications/Licenses Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT), Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN). Active Certified Pharmacy Technician registration in good standing, when applicable to the selected candidate's professional background. Accompanying Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies Working knowledge of pharmacy operations, claims processing, payment reconciliation, quality management, and healthcare compliance. Ability to interpret aging reports, remittance information, payment records, claim statuses, and performance data. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes, trends, and appropriate follow-up actions. Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation. Strong organizational and project-management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, locations, and follow-up items. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments and pharmacy locations. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Ability to learn and effectively use pharmacy management, reconciliation, payer, accreditation, and document-management systems.
