Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician Job Type Contract A certified Pharmacy Technician is needed for a contract role based in Roanoke, VA. This opportunity offers a 13-week assignment with a possibility for extension or conversion to a permanent position. The setting is office-based, with a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. The anticipated start date is approximately two weeks after the job offer.

Key Responsibilities:

Process prescriptions efficiently, including insurance adjudications and resolving rejections. Prepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist verification. Perform accurate data entry and manage prescription paperwork. Communicate professionally with patients and prescribers. Maintain inventory accuracy through daily cycle counts, restocking, and expiration monitoring. Assist with medication returns, quarantines, and destruction as required. Cross-train to support various pharmacy functions and departmental needs. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance regulations.

Qualifications:

Submit highest level of education on resume (e.g., HS, GED, Bachelor's). Must hold current Virginia State Registered Pharmacy Technician license. National certification required (PTCB, NHA, or ExCPT accepted). Minimum of 2 years recent pharmacy technician experience; experience in retail, closed door, mail order, or long-term care settings required (hospital experience not accepted). Must be local to the area.
