Inpatient Pharmacy Technician Position Details Location:
Milwaukee, Wisconsin area
Department:
Inpatient Pharmacy Position type: Pharmacy Technician Contract duration: Initial 13-week assignment, with the possibility of extension
Pay:
$28.00-$35.00 depending on experience Schedule Four 10-hour shifts per week, every other weekend
Schedule:
Four shifts per week, including every other weekend.
Shift availability:
Day or evening shifts, with start times varying between 6:00 AM and 1:30 PM.
Start date:
ASAP Extension Possible, based on facility needs; not guaranteed Position Summary UNITED Pharmacy Staffing is seeking an experienced Inpatient Pharmacy Technician for a contract opportunity at a
HOSPITAL
in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area. This position is ideal for a pharmacy technician with hospital experience and specialized training in sterile compounding, including hazardous drug handling. The successful candidate will help support inpatient pharmacy operations, medication preparation, and safe and accurate medication distribution. Key Responsibilities Assist pharmacists with daily inpatient pharmacy operations and medication distribution. Prepare, compound, label, and package medications in accordance with
USP 797/800
guidelines Perform sterile compounding activities in a cleanroom environment, including handling hazardous medications Support medication dispensing, inventory management, and replenishment of automated dispensing cabinets Utilize pharmacy information systems to process medication orders and maintain accurate documentation Follow established medication safety, infection control, quality assurance, and hazardous drug handling procedures.
Qualifications Required:
Previous inpatient or hospital pharmacy technician experience Licensed Pharmacy Technician in the state of Wisconsin Certification with PTCB or ExCPT Cleanroom training and experience with sterile compounding Training and experience in hazardous drug handling and compounding Strong attention to detail and commitment to medication safety Ability to work four 10-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend
Preferred:
Experience with Omnicell automated dispensing systems. Experience with Epic electronic health records.
