The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples, performing specimen processing, and ensuring patient comfort and safety. This role requires a strong understanding of laboratory procedures, excellent patient service skills, and adherence to strict safety protocols. The Phlebotomist will play a vital role in supporting accurate diagnosis and patient care within a clinical or hospital setting. Responsibilities Collect blood samples through venipuncture and skin puncture techniques with precision and care Prepare and label specimens accurately for laboratory testing Ensure proper handling, processing, and transportation of specimens to maintain integrity Maintain a sterile environment using aseptic techniques during specimen collection Provide compassionate patient care, explaining procedures and addressing patient concerns Follow all safety protocols, including infection control practices and proper disposal of sharps Document all procedures accurately in accordance with hospital or laboratory policies Support laboratory staff with additional tasks related to specimen processing and data entry Experience Prior laboratory experience or clinical laboratory experience preferred Proficiency in laboratory techniques such as venipuncture, blood sampling, and specimen handling Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and blood collection procedures Experience working in hospital or healthcare environments is advantageous Strong understanding of laboratory procedures, specimen processing, and patient service standards Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient care Familiarity with aseptic techniques and maintaining sterile environments during procedures This position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to patient health outcomes while working in a supportive healthcare environment.
