Job Description
Job Overview Core Diagnostic Laboratories is looking to hire an experienced and motivated Phlebotomist/Specimen Collector to be a part of our growing laboratory team! The main laboratory is located in Birmingham, AL. This phlebotomy/collection position will be onsite at a client's office in Sheffield, AL. Employee will be responsible for the collection and preparation of all specimens for submission to the laboratory. Experience in specimen collection and phlebotomy is a must. Must be comfortable handling biohazardous materials with provided PPE. Must have reliable transportation.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately order all tests listed on the patient requisition form
- Collect/draw patient samples required for the tests ordered
- Prepare samples for shipment to the laboratory
- Follow HIPPA regulations and Universal Precautions
- Communicate issues to management in a timely manner
Skills:
- Attention to detail
- Sample processing experience
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Efficient in computer operations
- Previous lab experience is preferred Duties
- Perform venipunctures and skin punctures to collect blood samples
- Verify patient information and maintain accurate records of tests performed
- Label specimens accurately and ensure proper transportation to the laboratory
- Monitor patient stability during blood collection procedures
- Provide exceptional patient care and comfort during procedures
- Utilize knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology in practice
- Adhere to aseptic techniques and safety protocols at all times Requirements
- Previous experience working in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting preferred
- Proficient in venipuncture techniques and blood collection procedures
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and physiology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy in specimen handling

$14.00- $16.
