Reviews test requisitions; collects specimens via venipuncture; accurately labels and transports specimens to the laboratory for clinical and biological analysis in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures. Performs laboratory testing and related support duties as required. Weekends will alternate with shifts being 9am-5:30pm. Qualifications for the job... High school education or equivalent required. Must be able to read, write and perform simple arithmetic calculations at a level acquired through a high school education. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Must be able to read, write and perform simple arithmetic calculations to perform functions of job such as patient identification, determine weight and vital signs, etc. One year experience required. Interpersonal skills required to interact effectively with patients, visitors and hospital personnel. Require knowledge of basic patient care methods, procedures and techniques.
