Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for collecting blood and other specimens from patients of all ages, ensuring accurate labeling, handling, and processing of samples to support diagnostic testing and patient care. Your expertise will help facilitate timely and precise laboratory results, contributing directly to patient health outcomes. Responsibilities Perform venipuncture and capillary blood sampling using aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and specimen integrity Collect blood specimens from diverse patient populations, including pediatrics, geriatrics, and hospital inpatients/outpatients Accurately label, handle, and process specimens following established laboratory procedures to maintain sample quality Provide compassionate patient care by explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and ensuring comfort during collection Enter patient data and specimen information into Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems with precision Maintain strict adherence to laboratory techniques, safety protocols, and infection control standards such as Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR requirements Assist with the preparation of specimens for testing, including proper storage, transport, and documentation of collection details Support laboratory staff with routine tasks such as data entry, inventory management, and equipment maintenance Requirements Proven experience in medical laboratory work or clinical specimen collection with a strong understanding of laboratory procedures and techniques Certification or training in phlebotomy, with proficiency in venipuncture and blood sampling methods Knowledge of human physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to specimen collection Prior hospital or healthcare facility experience preferred; familiarity with EMR/EHR systems is highly desirable Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to transport supplies or specimens safely Excellent customer service skills with a compassionate approach to patient care across all age groups Strong attention to detail for accurate data entry, specimen labeling, and documentation compliance Valid certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR required; additional certifications related to phlebotomy are advantageous Join our team where your skills will support vital diagnostic processes while providing exceptional patient care.
