In this vital role, you will perform venipuncture and capillary draws, ensuring accurate specimen collection and handling while maintaining a safe, sterile environment. Your expertise will support diagnostic testing, patient comfort, and efficient laboratory operations. This position offers an engaging opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patient health outcomes by combining technical skill with excellent customer service. Duties Collect blood samples from patients using venipuncture and capillary techniques, adhering to aseptic procedures and safety standards Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling, handling, and documentation Verify patient identity and explain procedures clearly to ensure comfort and cooperation during specimen collection Maintain accurate records of all collections, including data entry into electronic medical records (EMR) or electronic health records (EHR) systems Monitor patient vital signs when necessary and provide basic patient care during procedures, including geriatrics and pediatrics populations Follow laboratory protocols for specimen handling, storage, and transportation to ensure specimen integrity Maintain a clean, organized work environment while adhering to infection control practices such as aseptic technique Qualifications Proven experience in laboratory procedures, techniques, or medical laboratory work preferred Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and clinical laboratory practices Certification or training in phlebotomy or venipuncture is highly desirable Basic life support (BLS) certification including CPR required; additional training in blood sampling techniques preferred Experience working with EMR/EHR systems for data entry and specimen tracking Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations including pediatrics and geriatrics Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and stand for extended periods during specimen collection procedures Knowledge of hospital or clinical laboratory environments is a plus Join our team to help deliver vital diagnostic services with professionalism, precision, and compassion.
