Job Summary:

Work Schedule:
5x8-Hour and On-call only during emergency situations Work setting: Primarily assigned to the Emergency Department (ED) and Inpatient Units for specimen collection . May assist the Outpatient Lab until approximately 5:30 PM before transitioning to ED/Inpatient responsibilities. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: Collect blood specimens through venipuncture and capillary puncture. Perform blood draws for patients in the Emergency Department, inpatient units, and outpatient clinic when needed. Verify patient identity and accurately label specimens. Process and transport laboratory specimens according to facility protocols. Document specimen collection and patient information using Epic EMR. Follow infection control, OSHA, HIPAA, and patient safety guidelines. Communicate effectively with nurses, physicians, and laboratory staff to ensure timely patient care. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. To be considered for this position, you should have: [Skills, Education, or Experience] Minimum 3 5 years of recent phlebotomy experience (more experience preferred). Epic EMR experience is required. BLS Certification is required. Certified Phlebotomy Technician II (CPT II) is preferred for performing arterial blood gas (ABG) draws but is not required. Strong venipuncture, specimen handling, and patient interaction skills.
