Job Overview Distinctive Home & Health Care is a leading provider of healthcare to serve military installations across the United States. Our team of professionals is dedicated to providing the highest quality of service and support for each one of our clients. Distinctive Healthcare is currently seeking to hire a full time Phlebotomist at the Federal Correctional Institution, FCI Herlong. Key Responsibilities Verify patient identity and explain blood collection procedures clearly to ease anxiety. Perform venipunctures, capillary punctures, and finger sticks safely and efficiently. Label all collected specimens accurately with patient details, dates, and times. Match laboratory requisition forms with specimen tubes to prevent processing errors. Maintain a sterile work environment and follow all safety and biohazard protocols. Transport specimens to the laboratory for analysis or package them for courier pickup. Qualifications and Skills High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a certified Phlebotomy training program. Active Phlebotomy Technician Certification (CPT) preferred or required by state law. Proven experience handling blood draws on diverse patient populations, including pediatric and geriatric patients. Strong attention to detail, interpersonal skills, and a compassionate bedside manner. Basic computer skills for data entry and patient logging.
