Phlebotomist II / Patient Services Representative II (PSR II)

Location:

3910 S Carefree Cir, Colorado Springs, CO 80917

Job Type:

Contract (3 + months contract with possible extension and conversion into permanent)

Hours:

32 hours/week

Schedule:

Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Lunch:

1:00 PM-2:00

PM Job Summary:

The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents Client's to patients and is responsible for providing a positive, professional patient experience while performing high-quality blood specimen collection and specimen processing.

The PSR II will:

Perform venipuncture and collect high-quality blood specimens safely and accurately.

Perform pediatric, geriatric, and capillary specimen collections.

Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing according to established procedures.

Verify patient demographic information and obtain required patient signatures following venipuncture.

Confirm that specimen labels are accurate and properly applied in the patient's presence.

Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing duties.

Maintain accurate records and required documentation.

Follow all established policies, procedures, safety requirements, and confidentiality standards.

Provide excellent customer service and create an atmosphere of trust and confidence for patients.

Work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while managing multiple priorities.

Work independently with minimal on-site supervision.

Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.

Demonstrate strong communication, organizational, and customer-service skills.

Support other Patient Service Center or in-office phlebotomy locations as business needs require, with minimal notice.

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent - Required.

1-3 years of phlebotomy experience - Required.

Experience must include pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Strong phlebotomy and specimen collection skills.

Ability to provide accurate, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment based on established procedures.

Keyboard and data-entry experience.

Flexibility to support staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime when required.

Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record, if applicable.

Ability to travel and work at multiple Patient Service Center/in-office phlebotomy locations when required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.

Phlebotomy certification preferred.

2 years of Patient Service Center experience preferred.

Customer-service experience in a retail or service environment highly preferred.

Work Environment & Expectations:

Position is not eligible for remote work.

Training locations may vary depending on trainer availability.

Must maintain confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.

Must demonstrate strong customer focus and communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, and supervisors.

Must be adaptable to changing business and staffing needs.

Must follow Client's' dress code, Employee Health & Safety requirements, and established workplace policies.
