The Center for Diabetes and Endocrine Care is an established, high-volume endocrinology practice serving the Hollywood/Fort Lauderdale area. We are hiring a full-time Medical Assistant who can also draw blood. This is a dual-skilled role supporting our providers and our in-house lab. This position runs on a compressed 4-day / 10-hour schedule, plus one Friday per month . Same full-time hours, an extra day back every week. Why this role is different Most medical assistant jobs keep you in one lane. This one moves between direct patient care and our in-house lab, so you will use and keep sharpening both skill sets every day. If you have worked as an MA but your draw skills are going unused, this is the role that puts them back to work. What you'll do Clinical Room patients, obtain and document vitals Assist providers with patient care and in-office procedures, including thyroid/parathyroid ultrasound and fine needle aspiration biopsy Administer injections per provider order (B12, testosterone, osteoporosis therapies) Support CGM (continuous glucose monitoring) and RPM workflows Reinforce diabetes-related patient education In-House Lab Perform routine venipuncture on adult patients, including difficult draws Process specimens: centrifuge, aliquot, label, and prepare for send-out Run CLIA-waived in-house testing (A1c, urinalysis, and similar) Maintain lab logs, quality control documentation, and supply inventory Administrative Manage prior authorizations, referrals, and prescription refill requests Complete chart preparation and EMR documentation Handle patient phone calls and clinical messages Support check-in/check-out and scheduling as needed What we're looking for Required 1 to 2+ years of Medical Assistant experience in an outpatient setting Demonstrated venipuncture experience, with the ability to draw independently EMR proficiency and the ability to learn new systems quickly Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a high-volume office Reliable, professional, and patient-focused demeanor Preferred Bilingual English/Spanish - Plus!! Phlebotomy certification (CPT) and/or MA certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA) Endocrinology or diabetes management experience Specimen processing and CLIA-waived testing experience Experience across both front and back office responsibilities The person who does well here Dependable and detail-oriented. A team player who keeps a steady, pleasant tone through a busy clinic day. Someone patients trust with a needle and providers trust with a chart.
