The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in blood collection and a commitment to providing excellent patient service. As a Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate specimen collection and processing, contributing to the overall quality of patient care. Responsibilities Perform venipuncture and capillary draws for blood collection in accordance with established protocols. Ensure the use of aseptic techniques during all procedures to maintain patient safety and specimen integrity. Process specimens accurately for laboratory analysis, adhering to laboratory procedures and standards. Document patient information and laboratory results in compliance with medical terminology and regulatory requirements. Monitor and record vital signs as needed, providing essential information for patient assessments. Provide exceptional patient service by explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and ensuring comfort during the blood draw process. Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure timely and accurate specimen handling and processing. Qualifications Proven experience in phlebotomy or a related field is preferred. Strong understanding of physiology knowledge relevant to blood collection and patient care. Familiarity with laboratory procedures and specimen collection processing techniques. Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Knowledge of medical terminology is advantageous. Certification in phlebotomy or completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program is preferred.
